Kitsilano Invitational Regatta

Kitsilano Yacht Club is once again hosting the Kits Invitational Regatta for one-design dinghies and keelboats. The following classes will be racing:

Star
Lightning
M242
F18

An X-Class may be started at the discretion of the PRO.  Portsmouth ratings will NOT be applied to X-Class participants.

Thank you to the many volunteers who helped with the regatta this year. The weather really cooperated and we got all the races complete by 2pm on Sunday.

Registration:

At Kitsilano Yacht Club:

  • Thursday, July 10th: Between 20:00 and 22:00 hours
  • Saturday, July 12th: Between 09:30 and 11:00 hours

Entry Fees and Social:

  Entry fees to be determined by July 1st 2008

Additional dinner tickets are available only until close of Registration on Saturday.

* Cash or Canadian Bank Cheques only please. Due to excessive bank charges, KYC cannot accept US$ cheques.  Rate for US$ exchange on parity with Canadian dollar.

Race Schedule:

  • The first signal for the first race will be Saturday, July 12th at noon (12:00 hours)
  • No warning signal will be given after Sunday, July 13th at 16:00.
  • A maximum of 9 races will be run.  If 5 or more races are sailed, the final scoring will exclude each competitor's worst finish.

Rules and Regulations:

  • The regatta will be governed by the current ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing and the prescriptions of the Canadian Yachting Association, as well as the rules of the eligible classes and the regatta sailing instructions.
