Thursday Night Racing & Dinner

Every Thursday, beginning May 6th through September 9^th, 2010

Throughout the summer sailing season, the Club hosts a regular Thursday night race for members and their guests.  This friendly competition is a great introduction to racing for new sailors, or an excellent way to keep your boat and crew in race-ready condition.  Generally, our Lightnings, Stars and 5o5s are the most active fleets in this series, but all boats are welcome. 

The first race starts at 6pm, and we race as many times as possible before sunset.  Once racing is over, everyone is encouraged to come back to the Club for a wonderful 3-course dinner, catered by Zako’s Deli.  Enjoy the sunset from our patio with good food, good company, and the satisfaction of an evening spent out on the water. 

Reservations for dinner must be made through our office, no later than 5pm on the preceding Tuesday  (48 hours).  Last minute cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee.

Racing Fees:  There are NO additional fees to race on Thursday evening.

Dinner Fees:  $15 for members  OR $18 for non-members

Racing

Our fleets participate in many races in the Vancouver area, particularly in the summer season.  Membership is necessary to become a regular crew at Kitsilano Yacht Club, but members are often willing to fill up empty crew spots with new sailors.  Please review our club schedule for a short list of regattas and series hosted and generally attended by Kits fleets.  Please contact the Club for further information.
