Bluenose Regatta Saturday and Sunday October 29 / 30, 2016
Bluenose Regatta – October 29th and 30th, 2016
The first Bluenose Regatta, sailed in 1988, was limited to Lasers, a small, one-person dinghy. The 2016 Bluenose Regatta is open to all one design dinghies and this year there may be as many as seven classes (Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7., 29er, 420, 505, Cal 20) plus an X-Class. Total entries could be 70+ boats!
Notice of Race and Registration information is available here:
With the regatta now open to multiple classes, sailors will have different levels of experience and there will be many junior sailors as well. There will be a catered dinner on the Saturday night with a casual, family friendly menu and lots of hot chocolate (with marshmallows) to warm everyone up! Closer to the date, members will receive an email with details of the evening, including the menu and bar opening hours, and a request for RSVP.
The Bluenose Race Committee members and the KYC Executive take this opportunity to invite members to participate in the Regatta, if not as a sailor then please attend the Regatta dinner on Saturday, October 29th. Come join in the fun and provide a warm welcome to all the brave, chilly, and blue-nosed on-the-water volunteers and racers!
If you are not a sailor but would like to participate in the event, volunteer positions will be available. Please keep an eye on the Volunteering Info page on the website; Su, our Volunteer Coordinator, will be posting the positions shortly.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Bluenose!
Participants registered by October 25th, 2016 will receive an email with a link to download Sailing Instructions on October 28th, 2016.
